A Mysterious Object

I bought this thing about six months ago. It's still half-filled with the liquid inside. Maybe because I am not ofen using it. Actually this thing is close enough to me, because I tend to bring it anywhere in my bag.

It's small and has a cover on the top. The case is usually made of aluminium, plastic, or glass. There is a pushing button inside it. Generally, it is a bottle-shaped thing. But it is slimmer and more colorful.

It is one of my favorite things because it can make me feel fresh. It has some advantages for women, for example, giving a confidence and an attractive sense to people. We can know whether people using it by smelling the fragrant aroma. It is commonly expensive, except the unoriginal one. The liquid inside, which is essential oil, is a mixture of such complex ingridients and odorants.

So, can all of you guess what it is??

The Place of Memories

This place is very wide and open. It's located in the center of my high school, SMA 3 Padmanaba Yogyakarta. There is only one tree in that place, which is a very big tree named "Karetan". And that's also the name we call this place.

It is crowded with the students who choose it as a place to study if they are bored with the classroom situation. It is also a nice place to have some chit-chat with our friends on the break time, because the tree makes the place shady. If you pay attention to that tree, it has a lot of branches that can make you feel the mystic.

Well, I loved to go there after going to the canteen. Sometimes I spent some hours after school time in the afternoon just for sitting and chatting my friends. We could watch some interesting activities in the school yard and take photos freely there.

But actually those are not only the reasons why this place is special to me. It keeps many memories. From the first time I was in my high school until I graduated, there were lots of precious things that I won't forget. Those things sometimes still cross my mind and that makes me want to treasure them all.

Always Be My Brother

Guess who he is! He he..
Well, he is my younger brother. But he looks older than me, right?
Maybe because I have a young and cute face. Ha ha..
His name is Hotman Christinus. He was born on 11th of October, 1991. Though people call him Hotman, it doesn't mean that he is a hot man. He's seriously cool. He he..
He has a short straight black spiky hair. His eyebrows are very dark and bold. He has a square face, a pointed noise, and narrow eyes. His skin is white but recently it's getting darker.

He is generally different with me. He is very quiet and he doesn't really like to speak a lot. He usually works individually and doesn't really want to be in a team. He also likes solving problems by himself and thinking very hard. Maybe if you just have a nodding acquaintance with him, you will think that he is a very introvert person.

But actually the fact is almost true. I have lived with him since he was born. We've known each other for a very long time. He is actually kind and humble. He also has a few close friends and many companions. But maybe sometimes he just loves to work alone, and he prefers one-on-one sports to cooperative sports which usually need a team-work. For example, he chooses playing chess or badminton rather than basketball or soccer.

I think he always tries to help me. He is very good in some things that I'm not really in to it. He can handle those things so that I can rely on him. We can complete each other.
He also always tries to listen to me. We rarely fight but also rarely share our feelings. But I can see the way he showed that he cares for everything I said.

I hope we will still keep our peaceful relationship as usual.

Cheerful in EWD

On 7th and 8th of September 2008, all of the PBI students had EWD (English Welcoming Days) in Wonogondang Camping Ground. We gathered on 7.30 a.m. in the Mrican Hall. The first activity was singing the EWD jingle and group discussion. After that, there was a "meet-and-talk" section with our lecturers. Well, they introduced themselves and answered our questions patiently. Then we had an expo, which was some explanation about Process (the PBI organization). The first was CODE (the debating community), the second was MAC (Movie Appreciation Club), and the last was Magz (the PBI magazine). I think all of this community is interesting, but I'm still doubt about which organization I want to join.

Well, after having games, dividing tent groups, and practicing yells, at 2.00 p.m. we gathered and had our bags checked. I felt a little bit nervous though I didn't bring anything prohibited. And after the senior who checked my bags didn't find anything suspicious, I finally got relieved. So, after all finished, we left on 2.30 p.m. by trucks. Actually, going by truck was my first experience and some of my friends felt embarrassed about it. Well, it's fun though -standing, shaking, and feeling the natural wind around you. But definitely we didn't really feel comfortable and somewhat we looked like cows, ha ha..

We arrived there approximately on 3.30 p.m. We got some explanation and after that we went to our tent. We were allowed to do our personal activites and I chose not to take a bath for the first day. It doesn't matter because the air was cold and fresh so that I didn't get sweat.

After having our first meal, at 5 p.m. we had yells competition. My group (group 4) performed in the middle and we did our best. After that, there was a modern dancing performance by Exvaganza dancers. They were so attractive and the movements were hot! I think all of the boys gained some energy and not becoming tired anymore. And then, there was a performance by the EEPRO club (PBI theatre) which was exciting and entertaining. Especially when one of our friends was kissed by the seniors. Thus we could feel the shock-atmosphere come up!

At 10.00 p.m. the camp-fire and the talent show began. My group got the lucky number one. I think the other groups also performed some comedy dramas like us. But I couldn't really enjoy the fun that they bring because I felt so sleepy and tired.

The talent show ended on 11.30 p.m. So I slept for less than an hour because on 00.30 a.m. we had to do the tracking. I felt so sleepy, but we all must did it. And unfortunately, my group got the last turn. So we waited for more than two hours and we started our tracking at 03.00 a.m.

The tracking was not too scary because my group started when the sky was not so dark. I think the games were not so challenging; but I enjoyed our long trip, especially when we went to the last post, we had to get our eyes closed by wearing our slayers. I finally didn't feel sleepy anymore because I had to concentrate on my walk and tried not to fall or untouched my hands from my friend's shoulder. After that, we got our right foot washed, and apparently that made me stay awake. So, when our tracking ended at 06.00 a.m. we didn't have any desire to sleep again.

After having snack, at 08.00 a.m. we had an outbond. There were six games and they were so tiring. I think it was not just the most challenging activity but also the most dangerous one because after doing it, my body got some pains and bruised. Most of us got wet and we were forced to take a bath because of it.

After that, we finally had lunch and also an announcement of the competitions' winners. There were "Best GL", "Best Talent Show", "Best Yells", "Best Group", and the "Outbond Champions". Luckily, my group won the "Best Yells". We were surprised but happy of course! And finally, it all finished at 02.00 p.m. Then we cleaned our tent, threw rubbish, and packed our personal things. Actually the trucks came late so we had to wait about one hour.

Well, I think we had fun there! I also know more about PBI and the seniors. In conclusion, EWD is exciting and it should be carried out again next year. Cheer up!

Initially Introducing Myself

I'm Mila, an 18-year-old girl who has lived in Jogja for 18 years without getting bored. I've lived in one house until now and I've never moved to any other place. Maybe because when my parents first met here, they found it comfortable to live in. And of course because this city has many exciting places that make me enjoy living and apparently studying here..

I really love singing and playing piano. It's because my parents are music lecturers so I started to learn music since elementary school. But I think I've been in love with it since I was in my mother's womb. Because when my mother was pregnant, she often watched Jazz live performances and she felt her stomach moving! And she's sure that it was me. I think I was so enthusiastic when hearing the live music show.

I have one younger brother and no sister. We rarely have arguments or fight, and to me that's odd but quite impressive. He's really different with me because he is so quiet. He also likes science while I hate it so much. Moreover, he loves spicy foods! Well, I have to tell you that I don't like spicy stuffs. Or you can say that I can't eat them. Actually, on weekends my family usually go out or have dinner. Our favorite place recently is Pondok Cabe Restaurant. It's not good to me, because almost all the foods are hot and spicy. So, I tend to order non-spicy food while the others eat spicy food normally.

Well, that's a little bit interesting story about me. Thank you..
